Disclosure have gone “release crazy” and dropped 4 new tracks on all of us this week! 3 of them are great, 1 is good. We do go into more detail than that… a little bit… not much at all actually.
Funky Sensation was released today, a cool disco edit of Gwen McCrae’s funky 1981 classic, ‘Funky Sensation’. Disclosure are flipping disco tracks atm, and frankly, we hope they keep doing it. This might be the best of the lot! Great sample, funky bassline (yes, we said “funky”), and class drum samples.
The first release of the week was ‘Moonlight‘ a euphoric tune – really worth a stream or 50. Tuesday was ‘Where Angels Fear To Tread’, a version of the Frank Sinatra classic with a Disclosure stamp (we don’t like it so much – sorry, only telling truths here). Wednesday was a disco cut – ‘Love Can Be So Hard.’
So, basically, “Love Can Be So Hard” has been played about 50 times in the office… just on day 1 of it’s release!
Fandabidozi sample, such a clean drum track you could take it home to meet your mother on the 1st date, and a Disclosure bass hook that they have made all their own!
“Where Angels Fear To Tread” is not our favourite. As you will hear, there is a purposeful detune on the vocal sample. It’s a typical Disclosure drum track and bass line, but this is a “Marmite Track”.
Still, we got 4 DISCOLSURE TRACKS in 1 week – we’re NOT complaining!!!
